“Grandma had it, Mom Throw it, and I Bought it Back” Kind of Day…

thumb_img_3500_1024It rained almost all day one of the past Sundays. It wasn’t a heavy rain but the drizzle that you feel so cozy you just want to sit by a window and read a book while sipping a hot coffee(A nice cup of tea in my case). Since it was weekend, I didn’t feel to sit by the window or read a book.

When my hubby is home, I just can’t keep my mind in one place to sit and read. I just can’t:)

Anyway,So I and hubby decided to have a little road trip. Well, hubby surprised me asking if I want to drive to country side.
A road trip on a rainy day!
I just jumped on to it without a doubt…

Those are my favorite things! Rainy days and country roads…
Heck ya…
So off we went…
thumb_img_3493_1024-2Our little trip was all about  snacks, beautiful views, and  long chats! Not bad at all…
I just love how the roads and the views look like when it rains. Everything looks so calm and beautiful.thumb_img_3492_1024Everytime we go to this area, we pass lot of old barns. I picture those barns with barn animals, beautiful ponds, and wild flowers…
There’s such a beauty even in an old barn…
thumb_img_3498_1024After a long drive hubby and I had no idea where we were driving. We were just happy to drive  as long as we see farms, ponds, and country roads…
thumb_img_3501_1024
thumb_img_3495_1024Then guess what we bumped into?
A fancy little town with a huge flea market.

Mostly antiques…thumb_img_3506_1024
The whole town is full of stalls filled with treasures, and people were having a good time eating, chatting and hunting treasures.I had to stop and poke my head too;). Hubby and I are both into antiques but unfortunately hubby had to stay in the car since love bug was having a nap. He kindly let me jump in to the fancy ground and he promised me that he will call me if love bug wakes up or if he thinks I take too much time.
thumb_img_3515_1024I was happily walked around the cute little town taking pictures and enjoying the treasures. Houses in the little town were so cute. The owners were enjoying the happening things from their front porches. All the front porches had cute little decorations. I wish I could take pictures for you to see but I thought owners might not happy with that idea. So, I just enjoyed from the outside …

Here are some of the flea market treasures that caught my eye.

Hope you will enjoy…thumb_img_3575_1024The first place I stopped was an antic store. I had to go inside because of this gorgeous chairs. This is what I saw while we were driving… How could I not stop by ?
thumb_img_3523_1024I just love the color and the little details on them.thumb_img_3527_1024thumb_img_3526_1024300$ for both which I thought it wasn’t that bad. The lady who was working at the store, had seen me checking on the chairs. She came to me and said that I could get a good deal on them.thumb_img_3525_1024I wish I could bring them home but our car is  not that spacious, so I had to pass it. May be one day they will be mine. At least I’ll find similar ones;)thumb_img_3524_1024More random pretty things from that store…
thumb_img_3528_1024thumb_img_3529_1024thumb_img_3530_1024Great piece!
thumb_img_3536_1024This bench would be great on a front porch. Laying on it with a good book while sipping a cup of tea on a chill evening or sitting on the bench with a cozy blanket, and watching the rain while listening to your favorite all time music…

Imagine that cozy feeling…

thumb_img_3552_1024Speaking of cozy and tea, check out this cute tea pots…

thumb_img_3543_1024I had little time and I thought since this was a store, I could revisit anytime, so I headed to another place where they had vintage stuff…thumb_img_3558_1024I love this “Always kiss me good night” bed frame. This will make a nice bedroom with some fairy lights and cozy shabby chic bedding, thumb_img_3554_1024That is a nice set. Love the rose design in it!
thumb_img_3562_1024Love all the fall decor they had displayed.thumb_img_3510_1024thumb_img_3511_1024They had so many primitive stalls which I loved…
thumb_img_3512_1024

thumb_img_3513_1024My day was going really well and seemed like love bug was still sleeping with no calls from hubby, so I got that opportunity to explore more…thumb_img_3578_1024
Love this gorgeous clock!
It was only 25$ , I thought it’s a good deal…
thumb_img_3568_1024

thumb_img_3569_1024I fell in love with this cute little basket!
But I couldn’t imaging paying 40$ for it…
That’s too much for a basket…
thumb_img_3567_1024And these gorgeous vintage linens…
30$ for 2…thumb_img_3565_1024 Love the pink table and the bird cage…
thumb_img_3564_1024I loved this random weird cup…

It was only $3. I was thinking to get it, and then I saw a lady just jumped in and grabbed it…

Well, it’s not meant for me.I guess!thumb_img_3563_1024
When you are in a place like this, and you see something you like, you just grab it.

Don’t wait!
thumb_img_3557_1024Love the joy sign…thumb_img_3556_1024More random pictures from the flea market.

Thanks to my hubby I had so much fun walking around and checking on all the cool stuff.
I did buy some hand made napkin sets. Not so much though…thumb_img_3570_1024I had the best time. People were so nice and friendly.
Hubby said he had a good time ” people watching”.thumb_img_3516_1024As soon as I steeped in to the car, it started to rain. Thankfully it didn’t rain while I was walking around…
Love bug was still having a good long nap, so we took out some more snacks for the long ride to home…
It was just a Perfect day!

I wonder what hubby thinks about having another trip soon;)

Are you a treasure hunter? How has it gone so far?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Love,
Chaza.

  1. This reminds me of England. I lived in a little village in the south of England, and over the summer there was always an antique fair somewhere. I picked up some amazing trinkets at these places. Sadly I had to leave them all behind in England when I moved across the pond.

    1. Thank you so much. Some people don’t really like going this kind of stuff 🙂 at least you have your daughter to grab and go:) better to go with somebody has the same interest than somebody who is not really into…

  2. It is so much fun when you find a treasure. I love when I find vintage items that add to my collections. I get so tickled pink if any Muppets stuff is within the sales, markets or vintage shops!

  3. That sounds like a perfect Sunday! I adore long drives to nowhere and flea markets. Some of those finds are to die for. While, I love flea markets, I never actually buy anything. I have huge buyers remorse about things I can’t “justify,”. Plus my boyfriend doesn’t like my quirky taste in decor and prefers minimalist and modern looks.

    1. Thank you dear! Yeah you can find great things… Yeah sometimes that can happen.. but you can always use your taste in your space( your room, bathroom, kitchen) at least 🙂

  4. It looks like you had such a fun day! I love treasure hunting, but my hubby isn’t really into home decor. He wouldn’t mind living in house with cardboard boxes as furniture, lol!
And your pictures made me long for real fall weather. I’m in San Diego and it’s been in the 80s all week. We really don’t have very many rainy days here, and I miss the cozy atmosphere of watching the rain fall.

  5. What a lovely way to spent a rainy day! I love flea markets and all the amazing treasures to find 🙂 The “kiss me goodnight” bedframe is so adorable!

    1. I agree with you. Yes! The pieces you bring create happy memories. That’s another reason to love treasure hunting since there’s a little story behind everything you bring home. :)Thank you for visiting the blog!

  6. Honestly I don’t like rain but I need to say your pictures are really nice and can change my view on that weather:D also that antiques are lovely. I bet you had a great time

  7. We have several antique stores close to where we live, and I have never been in any of them! This post definitely makes me want to check them out though.

    1. You must check them out! I wish I had antique stores near by to check them whenever I want. Take the advantage while you are having the chance. You won’t regret:) Good Luck on fining treasuries!

  8. I love attending flea markets. I am such a lover of vintage items and I totally love the items that are being sold. I love the chair to bits!!! I would have brought it home with me too if I went with a huge truck, or probably have it delivered to my doorstep. Haha. 🙂

    1. You are my kind of person then. I bet you are loving the chairs. 🙂 Next time I probably consider delivering to my door step too:) Glad you are here and enjoyed the post. Thank you!

  9. I am pretty sure that I need everything that you took photos of.
That color blue is my favorite color and my house is full of it, so naturally it would work here. 😛

    1. Aww Thank you! Happy to hear you liked them. You share the same taste:) I love that color too. I can imagine your house with all the pretty stuff in that blue then, and I am sure those chairs will be happy to be in your home with other matching furnitures:)
