Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte

thumb_img_2153_1024I loooooove fall…
How about you?
Fall is my favorite time of the year, and it is officially fall….

It is that time of the year, all you see is Pumpkins…

sometimes even in my dreams:)
Fall decorations slowly showing up in the neighborhood.

I love it!

Are you done your’s?

I don’t have a lot of indoor fall decorations yet. I think I need a visit to Home Goods for some fall  decor but for now these  cute little pumpkins came home with me when I went for shopping. thumb_img_2225_1024When I saw these cute pumpkins sitting in the store, the first thing came to my mind wasn’t decorating, I thought my little love bug would love  them, so I just grabbed a bag of pumpkins.

Love bug loves pumpkins and orange color!

He loved it and played with them all day. He even went to bed with two pumpkins:)
I tell you, this doesn’t stay like this all the time. Pumpkins move around  a lot. Sometimes they even fly when somebody so sweet gets little upset:) A cute little love bug rules this house, we just live here;)thumb_img_2226_1024-3I found these cute owls at Michaels a while ago, it is not an easy job to keep the little hands out of them. I wish I could let him play with them but they made out of glass, so better not.Now that I have brought few pumpkins home, I couldn’t stop thinking about all the fall food…

You know me now that I love food, so I thought I’d  inspire me to make things happen around the house.

Around the kitchen really…

There are so much to get you inspire if you browse through the Internet. I am not sure how much decorations I am going to do this year but I  will be baking and making and stirring most of the time next few months for sure:)

Well, I thought it’s time, I need to get working on something that tastes like fall …

Our home fall tradition is a cup of pumpkin spice latte. That’s what fall taste like to me:)thumb_img_2159_1024We love sipping pumpkin spice latte on fall…

thumb_img_2154_1024Nothing is more comforting than a big mug of pumpkin spice latte( I am not talking about the size of this cup though) and  a warm blanket on a cold rainy day on fall!thumb_img_2163_1024Homemade version is so much better and so easy to make.
So I thought I should share the recipe with you!
Who doesn’t like a cup of homemade pumpkin spice latte on a nice crisp day?thumb_img_2165_1024
Here’s the recipe, enjoy!

Pumpkin pie spice latte Recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup of milk
1/2 cup of strong coffee
2 tablespoons of sugar or maple syrup ( it depends on your taste)
2 tablespoons of pumpkin purée ( canned or homemade)
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of pumpkin spice
Whipped cream for topping
Ground cinnamon for garnish

Method:
  1. In a medium pan heat the milk, sugar/syrup, and pumpkin puree on medium heat.
  2. Once it’s hot,  (but not boiling hot) add vanilla extract, pumpkin spice, and the coffee. Whisk them together until well mixed.
  3. Remove the pan from the burner, pour the milk pumpkin coffee mixture into a cup until it reaches to the top. Stir well.
  4. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle some ground cinnamon.

Enjoy your happiness in the cup!thumb_img_2167_1024

Notes:

Milk:

I used 2% milk. You can use whole milk, skim milk, non diary milk or even coconut milk. I heard whole milk and 2% milk taste the best.

Pumpkin pie spice:

I used the store bought little container of pumpkin pie spice but you can make the spice mixture at home too. You can easily find the Ingredients at home. It’s a mixture of nut Meg, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground cloves…

Sugar:

I used 2 table spoons of white sugar. You can use brown sugar, maple syrup, or even anything else you prefer to substitute the sugar.

Pumpkin puree:

I used a real pumpkin to get the puree which taste much better.

I just cut the pumpkin into slices and baked them until they soften enough to make the puree. Then once it cooled down, I scooped out the pumpkin flesh, and used the blender to get the puree out of it. You can use canned puree as well and refrigerate the rest  upto a week or so to make more.
Increase the ingredients to make more cups.

It tastes the same as Starbucks spice latte. It’s even better than Starbs.

So creamy and rich!

Good thing is whenever you feel having one, you can make it at home.

How good is that?

What makes you excited the most about fall?
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Love,
Chaza.
