I love wearing barefoot sandals when I am at home, on the beach, or at outdoor parties. They are great replace for flip flops. I own few store bought barefoot sandals but they are not really my favorite. some looks too big on my feet, and some doesn’t look good. I thought I should make my own barefoot sandals for this summer. Making your own barefoot sandals is more fun.You can use any design you want since you have all the control. It’s exciting to make things that reminds summer is on it’s way. isn’t it?
Summer reminds the sandy toes, beaches, sunsets, and salty air. Why not decorate your naked barefoot with a pair of cute and comfortable sandals to let your feet get more comfortable and prettier in this summer. Making your own piece of jewelry to treat your self, and hang it in your room until summer arrives. Don’t you love the proud/ happy feeling you get every time you see it? good thing is this project takes less than an hour, and you can find everything you need from your local craft store. Any beads you already have also will work. How exciting is that? After Few easy steps, you will have your own barefoot sandals, so are you ready to make your own barefoot sandal for this summer?
Let’s get started then.
You will need;
- Twain or beading (stretch) elastic (long enough for your foot. approximately 90 inches )To get an idea of the size of you twin or elastic wrap it around your toe nail and, bring it around your ankle twice. )
- beads ( any beads you like)
How to make :
Step One: Cut the cord
Cut the twine or elastic ( stretch) cord according to the size of your foot as I mentioned above. little bit more than the measurement would be fine.
Step Two: Lay out the bead design
Choose the design you like and lay them somewhere you can grab while you working on it.
Step Three: Attach the beads
Attach the beads to get the loop to go around your toe nail. smaller beads are more comfortable to walk.
Step Four:Continue to add beads
Bring the two ends of the elastic together and put both ends through a single bead to get a straight line on the upper portion of your sandal up to your anklet.
Step Five: Keep adding the beads
You can add any pattern you want. I just went with simple pearl beads and some other few beads here and there.
Step Six: Work around the ankle strings.
Once you come up to your anklet, keep adding beads separately to each string. Once the sandal fits to your anklet and feels comfortable to wear ( not too tight or not too loose), you are done adding beads.
Step Seven: Finishing the sandal
To finish the sandal, tie the both ends of the strings together if you used an elastic (stretch)cord. ( put some glue to both ends of the elastic and let them dry). If you used twine, put two knots to both ends to avoid beads keep moving, and then you can Attach lobster claw clasps to the end of the strings. It looks professional and easier to wear too.
I even used ribbon to make a sandal. Ribbon is little hard to go through smaller beads but it looks prettier. You can go around on your ankle couple of times and tie it with a cute bow.
If you are a person who loves Hanging out on beach, by the pool , outdoors with your naked barefoot, this is the best option for you. Since it doesn’t take much time and easy to make, you can customize your sandal to match your beach outfit, swim suite , outdoor wedding outfit, or any occasion you like. They are very comfortable and looks sexy on naked barefoot. Isn’t it cool that you can make your own saddle with less effort whenever you want. I love hanging out at home wearing them. I can’t wait for summer to arrive to hangout in beach with my barefoot sandals on.
If you have a daughter, you can make cute little pair for her to match with you. How cute that would be? You can even make a pair as a gift to one of your friend or whoever you like. You can even make these together with your girl friends when you have pool parties or girls’ day. That would be fun.
